Bluely was founded with a simple but powerful vision: diabetes management technology should work for everyone, everywhere. Today, we're building the world's most inclusive platform for diabetes care.
Bluely was born from lived experience — a personal fight with diabetes transformed into a mission to make care accessible for others across Africa.
My name is Simeon Azeh Kongnyuy, and I'm not just a technologist — I'm someone living with diabetes. Diagnosed at a young age in Cameroon, I quickly realized that managing this condition in our part of the world came with challenges most people elsewhere would never face: expensive test strips, no structured support, limited information, and a lot of stigma.
As I grew older and pursued my education in tech, I saw an opportunity to bridge this gap. I didn’t want others to go through what I did — to feel alone, to miss out on life simply because proper tools weren’t accessible. That was the beginning of Bluely.
Bluely started as an idea scribbled in a notebook: an app that works with the tools people already have — even basic phones. Over time, it evolved into a broader mission: not just digital tracking, but education, emotional support, outreach campaigns, and affordable devices. All built for Africa, by Africans, with empathy and purpose.
Today, Bluely is still growing. We're building, we're listening, and we're showing up — in communities, on the ground, and online. Because diabetes shouldn’t be a life sentence — not where you live, not what you earn, and not what device you use should limit your ability to thrive.
This is just the beginning.
